Iga Swiatek is looking to be the first woman since Martina Navratilova in 1991 to successfully defend the Indian Wells title.
Swiatek overcame stiff opposition to win this title in 2022, beating Maria Sakkari in the final. This was an early stage of Swiatek becoming a truly dominant world #1 and if the Pole can defend the title and ranking points here then her reign at the top is likely to be a long one.
The current Roland-Garros and US Open champion has a testing draw in the desert, but has also avoided her biggest threats, who reside in the bottom quarter of the draw.
