Daniil Medvedev looks to maintain his blistering form when he faces surprise package Christopher Eubanks in the Miami Open quarter-finals.

The former US Open champion has enjoyed a wonderful start to 2023, capturing three titles along the way in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai.

Also runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz at Indian Wells last time out, Medvedev arrives in his third successive Miami Open quarter-final having won 21 of his last 22 matches.

The 27-year-old has maintained his momentum by hitting 45 winners and dropping just nine games across his two matches so far, which have brought victories over Roberto Carballes Baena and Quentin Halys, while he received a third-round bye following Alex Molcan’s withdrawal.

Medvedev will be a heavy favourite to seal his maiden last-four appearance in Miami, but he cannot take anything for granted against an inspired Eubanks.

The home favourite has delighted the Hard Rock Stadium crowds by dropping just a single set on the way to reaching his first ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final.

Eubanks arrived in the event having won only two of his seven ATP tour-level main-draw matches this season, but has subsequently won four on the bounce for the first time in his career.

The 26-year-old has also secured his maiden venture into the world’s top 100 having defeated compatriot Denis Kudla and 17th seed Borna Coric, as well as Gregoire Barrere and Adrian Mannarino, who had eliminated 11th and eighth seeds Cameron Norrie and Hubert Hurkacz respectively.

The winner of this match will play either 14th seed Karen Khachanov or Francisco Cerundolo in the Miami Open semi-finals.

Play gets underway at around 6pm BST on Thursday and will be contested over the best of three sets at Hard Rock Stadium.
