Andy Murray v Dusan Lajovic live stream | ATP Miami Open 2023 preview

Andy Murray goes up against world number 76 Dusan Lajovic in the opening round of the Miami Open on Wednesday.

The former world number one has fond memories of Miami, having landed the title in 2009 and 2013, while he was also runner-up to Novak Djokovic in 2012 and 2015.

This marks only his third appearance at the ATP Masters 1000 event since reaching his fourth final, though he arrives having recently reached the championship match in Doha.

Murray defeated the likes of Alexander Zverev, Lorenzo Sonego and Jiri Lehecka along the way, before narrowly coming up short against the inspired Daniil Medvedev.

The resurgent 35-year-old, who also came through epic five-setters against Matteo Berrettini and Thanasi Kokkinakis at the Australian Open, is back up to 52th in the ATP rankings, though he was beaten by compatriot Jack Draper in the Indian Wells Masters third round last time out.

He is now set for his first ever meeting against Lajovic, who has never been past the third round in Miami.

Although, the Serbian is in solid form having reached three quarter-finals this season in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Santiago.

But he is likely to be lacking a little match sharpness, having retired injured in his Indian Wells Masters qualifier against Tennys Sandgren last time out.

The winner of this match will play 30th seed Maxime Cressy in the second round of the Miami Open.

Play gets underway at around 7pm GMT on Wednesday and will be contested over the best of three sets.
