Beatriz Haddad Maia has had an impressive grass season in 2022, having won 13 out of 15 matches. During this impressive run, Haddad Maia has won titles in Nottingham and Birmingham.

Simona has dropped just one set in her five matches in Toronto this week, which was actually in her semifinal match against Jessica Pegula. She had to fight from one set down in order to book her place in the final.
Simona Halep has won this Canadian tournament back in 2018, when it was hosted in Montreal.
