Coco Gauff v Simona Halep live stream | National Bank Open preview

Coco Gauff and Simona Halep go head-to-head in the Quarter-Finals of the 2022 National Bank Open in Toronto on Friday.

The fourth competitive meeting between these two players will see Halep aiming to maintain her perfect record over the American teenage sensation.

Halep is yet to drop a set in any of their three previous encounters, including Wimbledon 2019, and the 30-year-old looks to be regaining her fitness after struggling in recent months.

The former world number one, who reached the Semi-Finals of Wimbledon last month, is yet to drop a set so far this week, brushing aside Donna Vekić, Zhang Shuai and Jil Teichmann.

However, she faces a formidable Quarter-Final test against 18-year-old Gauff – who reached her first Grand Slam final at this year’s French Open.

The world number 11 came through a dramatic three-setter to edge out Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in the Second Round, before holding her nerve in an epic deciding set tie break against Aryna Sabalenka on Thursday.

Gauff is appearing in her sixth Quarter-Final of the season and is looking to stop the rot against her nemesis Halep.

Either seventh seed Jessica Pegula or Yulia Putintseva will await the winner in the Semi-Finals on Saturday.
