Karolina Pliskova and Camila Giorgi will meet in the final of the National Bank Open 2021 in Montreal today at 17.00pm (UK Time).
Karolina Pliskova has won 12 of her last 15 matches on grass and hard surfaces. After three accessible opponents in the first rounds, Karolina Pliskova met Aryna Sabalenka in the Semifinal and recorded an amazing victory. Pliskova sailed past Sabalenka 6-3, 6-4 while dispatching 20 winners and 10 aces. The Czech has dropped just one set here in Montreal this week, which was against Vekic in the opening round.
On the other hand, Camila Giorgi has had a mixed year so far, but she showed signs of life recently. The Italian has reached the Eastbourne semifinals two months ago but she was forced to withdraw due to an injury. After a decent performance at the Tokyo Olympics where she reached the quarter-finals, Camila is now in the final of the WTA Montreal. She dominated the match against Jessica Pegula in the Semi-finals and she is now in a final of a hard-court tournament for the first time since 2019.
