Top seed Aryna Sabalenka takes on former World No.1 Karolina Pliskova in the Semifinals of the National Bank Open 2021 in Montreal today at 18.00pm (UK Time).
Aryna Sabalenka has had an amazing year so far, having won titles in Abu Dhabi and Madrid Open, as well as finishing runner-up in Stuttgart. Aryna has also looked solid on grass recently, registering her best result at Grand Slam level by reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon. She has lost in the 2nd round of the Tokyo Olympics three weeks ago, but bounced back with three comfortable victories here in Montreal.
Karolina Pliskova, meanwhile, has started the year in a poor manner but looked much better over the past two months. She finished as runner-up to Ashleigh Barty in Wimbledon, but then lost in the third round of the Tokyo Olympics at the hands of Camila Giorgi. Pliskova had an easy run here in Montreal so far, by defeating the likes of Vekic, Anisimova, and Sorribes Tormo on her way to the semifinals.
Sabalenka has won two of the last three meetings with Pliskova, but she lost the most recent one in Wimbledon. We fancy Aryna to win here at odds of 53/100 with Bet365.
