Carlos Alcaraz v Jenson Brooksby live stream | US Open 2022 preview

Number three seed Carlos Alcaraz continues his 2022 US Open quest with a Third Round tie against Jenson Brooksby on Saturday.

Alcaraz is making only his second US Open appearance, having been forced to retire from his Quarter-Final match against Felix Auger-Aliassime last year.

The 19-year-old came into this event on the back of Quarter-Final runs in all three American hard court tournaments this season, with Cameron Norrie having beaten him in the recent Cincinnati Masters.

The world number four saw off Sebastian Baez in Round One, with the Argentinian retiring through injury during the third set after two and a half hours of play.

He then brushed aside another Argentine hopeful – Federico Coria – in straight sets to take his overall record to 46 wins from 55 games so far this season.

Alcaraz now comes up against American ace Brooksby for the first time, with the 21-year-old moving into Round Three on home soil for the second successive year.

The world number 37, a three-time ATP tour event finalist, ended Cincinnati Masters champion Borna Coric’s seven-match unbeaten run with a commanding straight sets success in the Second Round on Thursday.

He is now one win away from matching his best run in a Grand Slam to date but faces a formidable task against arguably the sport’s hottest young prospect.

Either 15th seed Marin Čilić or British number two Dan Evans will await the winner in the Fourth Round next week.
