Carlos Alcaraz v Federico Coria live stream | US Open 2022 preview

World number four Carlos Alcaraz continues his 2022 US Open campaign with a Second Round clash against Federico Coria on Thursday.

Alcaraz is making only his second US Open appearance, having been forced to retire from his Quarter-Final match against Felix Auger-Aliassime last year.

The 19-year-old came into this event on the back of Quarter-Final runs in all three American hard court tournaments this season, with Cameron Norrie having beaten him in the recent Cincinnati Masters.

Alcaraz, seeded number three in the draw, saw off Sebastian Baez in Round One, with the Argentinian retiring through injury during the third set after two and a half hours of play.

The Spanish sensation now faces another Argentine hopeful in Coria – the world number 78 who registered his first Grand Slam win of the season by defeating Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets earlier in the week.

Coria’s best run in a Grand Slam came at the 2020 French Open – where he reached the Third Round – and he has won the only previous meeting between the pair, on clay in Rio two years ago.

Either Cincinnati Masters champion Borna Ćorić or Jenson Brooksby will await the winner in the Third Round on Saturday.
