Iga Swiatek v Jessica Pegula live stream | US Open 2022 preview

World number one Iga Swiatek will take on Jessica Pegula in the Quarter-Finals of the 2022 US Open on Wednesday.

Swiatek defeated Jule Niemeier in three sets in the previous round to become the first Polish woman to reach the US Open Quarter-Finals.

Swiatek has dominated the WTA tour this year, having won 54 matches while losing just seven across all surfaces. She has not been at her best prior to the US Open 2022 though, winning only six matches in her last four tournaments.

She has competed in four Grand Slam quarterfinals over the past two years, having won the French Open in 20220 and 2022 and also reaching the Semi-Finals of the Australian Open this year.

Meanwhile, Pegula has now won seven of her last nine matches on hard courts. Here at Flushing Meadows, Pegula met some accessible opponents in the first three rounds in the shape of Golubic, Sasnovich, and Yuan.

Her toughest test was against Petra Kvitova in the Fourth Round, but Pegula won the match in a dominant manner, dropping just five games in two sets.

The only concern for Pegula is that she has played three Grand Slam quarter-finals so far and has lost all of them. This will be her 12th Quarter-Final at or above WTA 1000 level since the start of 2021.
