Ons Jabeur v Ajla Tomljanovic live stream | US Open 2022 preview

Fifth seed Ons Jabeur will take on Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic in the Quarter-Finals of the 2022 US Open on Tuesday.

Both players are appearing at this stage of the US Open for the first time, with Jabeur aiming to extend her unbeaten record against Tomljanovic to three matches, having prevailed most recent at the Italian Open earlier this year.

Tunisia’s Jabeur has already made history this year, becoming the first Arab or North African woman to ever reach the final of a Grand Slam – at Wimbledon.

She was denied glory on that occasion by Elena Rybakina but is now bidding to go one better at Flushing Meadows and add her name to the roll of honour.

Jabeur has dropped just one set en route to the Quarter-Finals in New York, brushing aside Madison Brengle and Elizabeth Mandlik in straight sets before coming through a decider against Shelby Rogers and overcoming the in-form Veronika Kudermetova in two.

Tomljanovic, meanwhile, finds herself in a second successive Grand Slam Quarter-Final, having not made it to that stage of a major prior to Wimbledon in July.

The 29-year-old tore up the script by knocking out departing legend Serena Williams in her last-ever tournament, storming through the deciding set 6-1.

Prior to that, she had seen off Karolina Muchova and Evgeniya Rodina, and was a comfortable straight sets winner over Liudmila Samsonova in the Fourth Round.

World ranked 46, Tomljanovic is looking to defy the odds as the last unseeded player left standing in the women’s draw.

Either Coco Gauff or Caroline Garcia will await the winner in the Semi-Finals on Thursday.
