Emerging star Emma Raducanu aims to continue her historic run at the 2021 US Open when she faces Maria Sakkari in the Semi-Finals on Thursday.

The 18-year-old has made headlines around the world through her exploits in her debut campaign at Flushing Meadows and will be determined for the fairy-tale in New York not to end one step short of the final.

In only her fourth tour-level event, Raducanu has become the first qualifier to reach the Semi-Finals of the US Open and has remarkably done so without dropping a single set.

Now British number one, Raducanu has won 14 of her last 16 matches on hard courts and is six games unbeaten against top 50 ranked opposition.

The teenager has shown maturity beyond her years to defeat Stefanie Vögele, Zhang Shuai, Sara Sorribes Tormo, Shelby Rogers and Belinda Bencic en route to the Semi-Final stage.

She now faces another formidable test against world number 18 Sakkari – making her second appearance in a Grand Slam Semi-Final this season.

The Greek star was denied by Barbora Krejčíková in an epic tie break at Roland Garros and has once again underlined her calibre in majors by overcoming the likes of Petra Kvitova, Bianca Andreescu and Karolina Pliskova so far here.

Sakkari is renowned for her aggressive style of play, centered around her strong serve and powerful ground strokes and served the sixth most aces of any WTA player last year.
