Third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas will take on emerging star Carlos Alcaraz in the third round of the 2021 US Open on Friday.
Alcaraz produced one of the biggest upsets of the first round of by defeating number 26 seed Cameron Norrie in straight sets.
The fearless 18-year-old followed this up with another victory over fellow US Open debutant Arthur Rinderknech.
The Spaniard has won twelve of his last 15 matches on clay and hard courts. During this run, Alcaraz managed to lift the trophy in Umag. In addition, Alcaraz has made two Semi-Final appearances in Marbella and Winston-Salem recently.
Tsitsipas has won nine of her last twelve matches on hard courts. The Greek star has been involved in some controversial moments here at the US Open so far.
His long toilet breaks in the first round against Andy Muray were criticized by the Brit and the public, and he once again took a lengthy break in the second round against Adrian Mannarino.
He did similar against Alexander Zverev in the Semi-Final at the Cincinnati Masters two weeks ago, and the German was critcial of him both on and off the court.
Alcaraz has been in fine form of late so we expect him to take at least one set from Tsitsipas here. Our prediction is Over 34.5 Games at odds of 5/6 with Bet365.
