Last year’s final saw Iga Swiatek beat Ons Jabeur in straight sets, and the Polish athlete is the favourite to hold the trophy aloft this year. It was Swiatek’s third Grand Slam trophy, a record she has added to with the 2023 French Open, and she’ll be looking to make it two in a row at Flushing Meadows this year.
She’ll have tough challenges from Elena Rybakina, Ons Jabeur and Aryna Sabalenka though, who should all be among the athletes going deep into the tournament.
