Carlos Alcaraz v Hubert Hurkacz live stream | Western & Southern Open semi-final preview

Carlos Alcaraz and Hubert Hurkacz go head-to-head in a mouth-watering Semi-Final at the Western & Southern Open on Saturday.

A repeat of last week’s show-down at the National Bank Open in Toronto sees Hurkacz bidding to avenge that Third Round defeat and register his first win over Alcaraz.

Top seed Alcaraz is aiming to remain on course for a seventh title of the year, having claimed the Wimbledon crown as well as titles at Indian Wells, Madrid, Barcelona, Queen’s Club and Buenos Aires.

The Spaniard is through to the Semi-Finals of this event for the first time but has had to dig deep in last set deciders in all three of his victories this week.

Alcaraz edged past Australian qualifier Jordan Thompson in his opener before avenging last week’s defeat to Tommy Paul.

He then recovered from a set down to dispatch Max Purcell in another decider on Friday and is the only male with more than 50 wins to his name this season.

Hurkacz is also appearing at this stage of the competition for the first time and is vying to reach an eighth career final and what would be a third ATP 1000 final.

The Pole, who has claimed glory in Marseille this season, started out with a deciding set win over Thanasi Kokkinakis, before coming from a set down to defeat Borna Ćorić.

He then saw off fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-4 and went on to defeat Alexei Popyrin in successive sets to continue his run.

The match gets underway at around 8pm BST and will be contested over the best of three sets on Center Court.

Either 23-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic or former US Open finalist Alexander Zverev will await the winner in Sunday’s final.
