Ekaterina Alexandrova v Aryna Sabalenka live stream | Wimbledon 2023 Fourth Round Preview

One of the favourites for the Wimbledon title, Aryna Sabalenka, faces off against a tough opponent in Ekaterina Alexandrova for a place in the quarter-finals.

Sabalenka has already faced down a difficult situation having been a set down to Varvara Gracheva in the second round. However, there was a definite improvement shown by the Belarusian when defeating Anna Blinkova in two comfortable sets in the third round.

There was a huge battle in the second round for Alexandrova as well. The Russian ended up defeating Madison Brengle, but it took three tiebreaks to settle that match. Similarly to Sabalenka though, Alexandrova turned up the heat in the third round, losing only four games to Hungarian Dalma Galfi.

It really is a tough test for both players though. They have faced off five times previously, and Alexandrova actually leads the head-to-head 3-2. Interestingly, the most recent of these matches was on grass at s-Hertogenbosch last year and Alexandrova actually dished out a bagel to Sabalenka in the second set.

Sabalenka is definitely an improved player, even from last year. There is increased drive and psychological strength and this may be the difference that will see her through to the next round.

Young superstar Mirra Andreeva or Madison Keys await in the quarter-finals for the winner of this match at Wimbledon.

Play gets underway at around 3:00pm BST on Monday and will be contested over the best of three sets on No.1 Court.
