Ashleigh Barty is eyeing a second Grand Slam title when she takes on Karolina Pliskova in the final of Wimbledon 2021 on Saturday from 2pm BST.
Barty has dropped a single set in her six matches at Wimbledon 2021, which was against Carla Suarez-Navarro in the opening round. As the tournament progressed, Barty’s confidence in her physical state rose along with the lever of her tennis. She proved that in the Semi-Finals, where she was 5-3 down in the second set against Angelique Kerber, but she came back and won the set in a tiebreak. Barty has won the Roland Garros title in 2019 and she is yet to lose in a final of a Grand Slam.
Pliskova, on the other hand, is back into a Grand Slam final after five years since her first one. Karolina Pliskova has played just one seed in her route to the Wimbledon 2021 final, which was Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals. The Czech has lost in the final of a major before, as she finished runner-up to Angelique Kerber in 2016 at the US Open.
Barty has won the previous three meetings with Pliskova and has dropped two sets in the process. We expect a close contest between these two, so our prediction is Over 21.5 Games at odds of 4/5 with Bet365.
