Novak Djokovic can surpass Pete Sampras with victory over Hubert Hurkacz in the fourth round at Wimbledon on Sunday.
The Serb moved level with fellow seven-time champion Sampras on 31 successive match wins at SW19 following his straight-sets success over Stan Wawrinka late on Friday.
Djokovic can now better his idol as he remains on course for a record-equalling eighth title, while becoming the third player to win five in a row at the All England Club after Bjorn Borg and Roger Federer.
The second seed is yet to drop a set so far and has won all five of his previous meetings with Hurkacz.
The most recent of these was a straight-sets win in Dubai earlier this season, while he also came through in five sets in the third round here four years ago.
But the 36-year-old will certainly not be taking anything for granted against renowned big server Hurkacz, who boasts pedigree on grass.
Champion at Halle in 2022, the Pole beat Federer on the way to reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals the previous year.
And like Djokovic, the 17th seed has also reeled off nine sets without reply in his opening three matches, overcoming Albert Ramos Vinolas, Jan Choinski and Lorenzo Musetti in the process.
Hurkacz, who triumphed in Marseille earlier in the season, arrived at SW19 fresh from reaching the semi-finals in Stuttgart, and would love to go even further here.
A showdown with seventh seed Andrey Rublev awaits the winner of this match in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.
Play gets underway at around 9pm BST on Sunday and will be contested over the best of five sets on Centre Court.
