Roger Federer and Lorenzo Sonego will face each other in the Round of 16 of the Wimbledon 2021 today at 17.00pm (UK Time).
Federer had a slow start at this edition of the Wimbledon and was a bit lucky with Mannarino’s withdrawal in the opening round. However, the Swiss improved his game in the previous two rounds, having won against Gasquet and Norrie while dropping just one set. Federer is an 8th time former champion of Wimbledon and he is currently on a 17-0 record in the Round of 16.
Sonego did well to reach this stage of the competition, but he hasn’t faced a top 90 player on his route. Sonego hasn’t been at his best this year, but he still managed to win the title in Cagliari, finished as runner-up in Eastbourne and also reached the Semi-Finals of the Rome Masters.
This will be Sonego’s second opportunity to book his first appearance in a Grand Slam Quarter-Final match after he failed to do that at French Open last year, where he lost in straight sets against Diego Schwartzman.
After his recent victory over Norrie, we expect Federer to grab a comfortable straight sets win here at odds of 5/4 with Bet365.
