Filip Krajinovic will take on the enigmatic Nick Kyrgios in the Second Round of Wimbledon on Thursday.
Krajinovic has been struggling with inconsistency in this first half of the year, but he looked slightly better over the past two weeks. He recently reached his first final of the season as he lost to Matteo Berrettini in ATP London a week ago.
The Serb avoided his 5th first-round exit from Wimbledon two days ago as he defeated Jiri Lehecka in five sets. This was the Serbian’s first main draw win at Wimbledon.
Krajinovic’s record on grass isn’t such a solid one as he had just eight wins to his name before 2022.
Meanwhile, Kyrgios was also taken to the distance in the opening round as he beat Paul Jubb in five sets. The Australian star was complaining about several things in that match, whether it was the grass condition or the choices made by the referees.
The world number 40 has reached the Semi-Final in two of the three warm-up events. Both his most recent defeats were against solid opponents in the shape of Andy Murray and Hubert Hurkacz.
In addition, Nick holds a record of six victories and just one defeat in the second-round matches at Wimbledon. The 27-year-old’s best performance here was a Quarter-Final appearance.
