The first semi-final of Wimbledon 2022 is set with reigning champion, Novak Djokovic facing off against Cameron Norrie, Britain’s number one.
Norrie reached the semi-final after a hard fought, five set victory over David Goffin at the quarter final stage.
The Brit was on the verge of being eliminated twice but fought back to claim a 3-6, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over the Belgian, setting up this mouth-watering tie with the imperious Djokovic.
The 35 year old Serbian faced his own battle in the previous round, coming from two sets down to claim a win over Italy’s Jannik Sinner by a score of 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
Djokovic comes into the semi-final as the strong favourite but Norrie has shown his class throughout the tournament and will have the might of the crowd on Centre Court behind him, meaning anything could be possible for the 26 year old.
