Two Serbians will square off in the round of 16 of Wimbledon 2022 as Novak Djokovic takes on Miomir Kecmanovic on Friday.
Djokovic kicked off his 2022 Wimbledon campaign slowly by dropping a set against Kwon in the opening round. However, Nole put in an absurdly high-level performance against Thanasi Kokkinakis in the 2nd round by dropping just seven games in the process.
Djokovic is yet to win a Grand Slam this year, but he has an amazing opportunity to do it here at Wimbledon. The other three semi-finalists from last year’s Wimbledon have already exited the tournament. This makes Nole a firm favourite to reclaim the title this fortnight.
Furthermore, the Serb has won the last three editions of Wimbledon and he is currently on a 23-match winning run on grass.
Meanwhile, Kecmanovic has dropped a set in each of the first two rounds here at Wimbledon, beating the likes of Millman and Tabilo.
Miomir is now in the third round at Wimbledon for the first time in his career after suffering back-to-back defeats in the second round in the previous two editions.
Kecmanovic has reached the third round in all the previous two Grand Slams of the year.
