Australian star Nick Kyrgios will take on Paul Jubb of Great Britain in the opening round of Wimbledon 2022 on Tuesday.
Jubb’s recent form has been a complete mixed bag with six defeats and four victories in his last ten matches on clay and grass surfaces. The Brit has won just three of his seven matches on grass. In addition, he was eliminated in the opening rounds of the previous two tournaments in London and Eastbourne.
This is the second time when Jubb is competing at Wimbledon after receiving a wildcard chance back in 2019. He is yet to win a main draw match here and he is now facing Nick Kyrgios, who has been in solid shape recently.
On the contrary, Kyrgios has won seven of his ten matches on grass. The Australian made consecutive Semi-Final appearances in Stuttgart and Halle. Unfortunately, he couldn’t continue his good run as he was forced to withdraw from the second round of the Mallorca Open.
The Aussie ace holds a record of 6 wins and just one loss in first-round matches here at Wimbledon. His best performance here was a quarterfinal appearance way back in 2014.
