Karolina Pliskova will be looking for a fifth consecutive straight-sets victory at Wimbledon 2021 when she takes on Viktorija Golubic in the Quarter-Finals on Tuesday.
After a couple of disappointing results at the French Open on clay and Berlin Open and Eastbourne on grass, Pliskova has come to her senses. She looked incredibly solid here at Wimbledon and she is now in her first quarterfinal match here.
The Czech ace has won all her four matches without dropping a single set, but it has to be said that she hasn’t faced a seed in her journey. Karolina’s record in the Grand Slam Quarter-Finals is 3-4, and her best recent performance at this level was reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open 2019.
Meanwhile, Golubic has shown some signs of performance prior to the Wimbledon, as she reached the Quarter-Finals in Eastbourne where she lost in three sets against Annet Kontaveit.
She kicked off her Wimbledon adventure with a marathon match against Veronika Kudermetova, but then she had no issues against Collins, Brengle, and Keys, winning all these matches in straight sets. Golubic’s recent record on the grass surface reads eight wins in nine matches.
This will be Pliskova’s toughest test in her Wimbledon 2021 campaign and we expect a close contest. Over 21.5 Games at the odds of 5/6 seems to be a fair price here, as both players have performed well lately.
