Novak Djokovic continues the defence of his Wimbledon crown with a Semi-Final show-down against Jannik Sinner on Friday.

Djokovic continues to dominate Centre Court and is only two more victories away from five consecutive Wimbledon titles, eight in total and 24 Grand Slam titles.

The Serbian faces has a tough test against Sinner, however. The Italian took Djokovic to five sets at Wimbledon last year, taking the first two with some excellent attacking tennis.

Sinner has had something of a fortunate route through to this stage. He has yet to meet a member of the world’s top 75, and now he has to take on the best to ever play the game. The uplift in quality may surprise the Italian but he does have the game to take it to Djokovic.

Djokovic has not been flawless in this tournament. He has dropped more games than any of the other semi-finalists en route to now and has lost a few sets as well. However, Djokovic is the master of raising his level as and when he needs to and one would have to trust him again that he is going to do that here.

It is Djokovic that leads the head-to-head 2-0. Last year’s Wimbledon meeting is obviously the most relevant form, their other meeting was on the clay in Monte Carlo in 2021. Djokovic won that match comfortably 6-4 6-2.

If Sinner is to win this one then he has to go all-out attack and hope that will be enough to take three of the five sets. Djokovic more often than not just finds a way to acclimatise to the occasion and his opponent and the suspicion is that this will happen again here.

Whoever prevails here will take on either Daniil Medvedev or world number one Carlos Alcaraz in the final on Sunday.

Play gets underway at 1.30pm BST on Friday and will be contested over the best of five sets on Centre Court.
