Wimbledon is finally here but will the tournament be effected by inclement weather? Get the latest updates here.
The Met Office have released their forecasts for the tournament and, on the whole, things are looking promising for the tournament going ahead without too many interruptions.
The first week of the tournament is likely to see some showers at points but nothing that should disrupt the flow of games too much. The temperature looks set to be fine for tennis too, with the heat staying in the low twenties throughout the first week.
Normally the middle Sunday of the tournament is kept clear for games that have been disrupted by the weather but this year games have been arranged for that day meaning that games that overrun could cause a backlog.
The second week looks even more promising with no rain forecast at this point and the temperature staying consistent in the low to mid twenties.
It seems likely at this point that the weather shouldn’t impact too much on the tournament and that spectators arriving in SW19 should enjoy a warm, and mostly dry, time at the third Grand Slam of 2022.
