Iga Swiatek vs Ekaterina Alexandrova live stream | WTA Madrid preview

Iga Swiatek is looking in prime form as she continues her unbeaten clay-court streak in WTA Madrid. The Pole takes on Ekaterina Alexandrova at around 8:30pm UK time. 

Swiatek swatted aside competant clay-courter Bernarda Pera in the previous round to extend her winning streak on clay to 6-0 for 2023, and an incredible 20-1 for the last twelve months, only Caroline Garcia has beaten Swiatek on the dirt in the last calendar year.

Alexandrova, meanwhile, actually has a losing record in WTA matches on clay, 35-39. She does, however, have a win against Swiatek in her locker from 2021, and there aren’t many around who don’t have a losing record against the world #1.

Ultimately I don’t think that win will count for much here. Swiatek on clay is a totally different proposition and is probably the toughest test in the women’s game right now. Swiatek will probably win this match in straight sets.
