It’s hard to think of another player on the circuit who deserves a Grand Slam more than Ons Jabeur, with the Tunisian being on the losing end of her third final in 12 months. She lost out in both the Wimbledon, and US Open, finals in 2022 and the hangover continued into 2023, with a second round departure at the Australian Open.
The French Open proved to be another frustrating event for Jabeur, with a quarter-final defeat to Beatriz Haddad Maia sending her home. She, once again, made the Wimbledon final but experience defeat, this time losing in straight sets to Markéta Vondroušová. The US Open represents her last chance to win a Grand Slam in 2023 but she’ll need to prove that she’s got the ability to find form in a final to do so.
