Angelique Kerber will take on Petra Kvitova in the Quarter-Finals of the Cincinnati Masters 2021 on Friday.
Kerber has been in fantastic shape over the past two months, having won 13 of her last 14 matches on grass and hard courts. She has won the Bad Homburg title on grass towards the end of June and then reached the Semifinals at Wimbledon.
Kerber continued her good form here in Cincinnati by registering some excellent victories over Sakkari, Svitolina, and Ostapenko. With a victory today, she will make her third quarterfinal appearance in her tenth campaign at the Western & Southern Open.
Meanwhile, Kvitova hasn’t been at her best over the past two months, but she found form here in Cincinnati. The Czech is yet to lose a single set at the Western & Southern Open this week, having beaten the likes of Keys, Kudermetova, and Jabeur. Kvitova will be looking to improve her season’s 2-2 quarterfinal win-loss, with the victories coming in Doha and Bad Homburg.
