Jessica Pegula v Coco Gauff live stream with Bet365 | Rothesay International preview

Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff put their friendship to one side when they clash in the Rothesay International quarter-finals on Thursday.

The American pair, who are also set to appear together in the women’s doubles semi-finals, go head to head in Eastbourne with a place in the last four of the singles event at stake.

Together, Pegula and Gauff have enjoyed a successful season. Indeed, they have triumphed in Miami and Doha while finishing as runners-up in Madrid and Rome, and reaching the Australian Open and French Open semi-finals.

But that camaraderie and team spirit will be put on hold as they look to enjoy a rare singles success on grass.

Third seed Pegula has matched her best performance on surface, having also reached the quarter-finals in Berlin two years ago, and will look to go one better here at the very least.

The Doha runner-up is still targeting her first singles silverware of 2023 – reaching the semi-finals in Dubai and Miami – and has overcome Qinwen Zheng and Camila Osorio so far in her latest quest to do so this week.

Meanwhile, Gauff is yet to drop a set on the way to reaching the quarter-finals on grass for the first time, defeating compatriot Bernarda Para and Jodie Burrage.

A winner in Auckland at the start of the year and quarter-finalist at Roland Garros, the 19-year-old will want to go deep again here and build momentum ahead of Wimbledon.

The winner of this match will play either compatriot Madison Keys or Croatia’s Petra Martic in the semi-finals.

Play gets underway at around 2.30pm BST on Thursday and will be contested over the best of three sets at Devonshire Park in Eastbourne.
