Coco Gauff and Wang Qiang will square off in the final of the Emilia-Romagna Open today at 13.30 pm (UK Time).
Coco Gauff has now won eight of her last nine matches on clay courts. After three consecutive straight-set victories, Coco Gauff had to fight hard to beat Katerina Siniakova in the Semifinals (7-5,1-6, 6-2). Gauff has made four quarterfinals or better over the past three months and she is now in her first final of the year.
Qiang Wang’s run here in Parma came out of nowhere as previous to this tournament she was knocked out from the first rounds in both Madrid and Rome. Actually, this is the first time this season when Wang managed to put together four consecutive victories. Until this week, Wang was on a 12-match losing streak against top 100 players.
