We should be in for a tremendous final with the new world number one facing the home favourite on Arthur Ashe Court.
Australian Open champion Sabalenka can become the first player to win both hard-court slams in a single season since Angelique Kerber in 2016.
As for 2022 French Open runner-up Gauff, she is seeking her major breakthrough after becoming the youngest American to reach the US Open showpiece since a certain Serena Williams 24 years ago.
Both players have been among the standout performers on the WTA Tour this year with three titles apiece.

Before her semi-final, Sabalenka had steamrolled her way through the tournament, reeling off 10 sets on the bounce.
That streak was abruptly ended by an inspired Madison Keys but, despite trailing 6-0, 5-3, the new world number one dug deep before eventually prevailing in a dramatic tie-break.
