Carlos Alcaraz looks to achieve his longest ever winning streak when he plays Jaume Munar in the last 16 at Queen’s Club on Thursday.
Fresh from his triumphs at the Italian Open and French Open, Alcaraz has now won each of his last 14 matches on the ATP Tour.
The world number two built on that momentum with a 6-4, 7-6(4) victory over lucky loser Adam Walton in the opening round on Wednesday.
He now looks to remain on course for a tour-leading ninth ATP quarter-final of the season – and second title at Queen’s Club, where he reigned two years ago.
Standing in his way is a man looking to record the biggest win of his career in Munar.
The world number 59 is relatively fresh after first-round opponent Jordan Thompson retired injured, though he knows facing Alcaraz will be an entirely different proposition.
Nevertheless, Munar has claimed some notable scalps this season, during which he has reached semi-finals in Hong Kong and Dallas, beating the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Ben Shelton (twice) and Lorenzo Musetti.
A showdown with either Reilly Opelka or Arthur Rinderknech awaits the winner of this clash in the quarter-finals.
The match gets under way at around 3pm BST on Thursday and will be contested over the best of three sets in the Andy Murray Arena.
Carlos Alcaraz v Jaume Munar prediction
Munar, who is eyeing his first career quarter-final on grass, will be encouraged by the fact Alcaraz was beaten by Jack Draper in the second round at Queen’s Club 12 months ago.
However, that remains the sole surface defeat against players outside the top 20 for the five-time major winner, who boasts a 21-1 record on grass since the start of 2023.
Alcaraz is also 38-5 in 2025, and holds a 19-3 career record against fellow Spaniards on the ATP Tour.
As for Munar, he has only enjoyed three victories over top-10 opponents in 20 attempts during his career.
