The US Open reaches the fourth round on Day 8, and the seeds have fallen at a rate nobody predicted. Novak Djokovic went out on the opening day, third seed Félix Auger-Aliassime and sixth seed Alex de Minaur went in the second round, and the third has taken fifth seed Flavio Cobolli, seventh seed Karolína Muchová and Taylor Fritz, who led by two sets and lost in five.
Britain has nobody left in either singles draw. Carlos Alcaraz meets Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton meets Stefanos Tsitsipas in the last 16, while Aryna Sabalenka faces the unseeded American Taylor Townsend and Iga Świątek plays the qualifier Zheng Qinwen.
