Novak Djokovic continues his quest for that record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title with a fourth-round clash against Alex De Minaur.

It has been relatively straightforward this fortnight for Djokovic, who is targeting a 16th appearance in the quarter-finals at the All England Club.

After losing the second set in his first-round clash with Alexandre Muller, he has not looked back; reeling off eight unanswered sets for the loss of just 16 games – defeating home favourite Dan Evans and compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic along the way.

Djokovic’s victory over the latter represented his 100th at Wimbledon, where he has been runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz in each of the last two years.

De Minaur has also dropped just a single set in his opening three matches, though this represents by far his sternest test yet.

The Australian was due to face Djokovic in the quarter-finals 12 months ago, but was forced to withdraw beforehand due to a hip injury.

He will certainly be eager to make up for lost time as a result.

A quarter-final meeting with either 2017 runner-up Marin Cilic or 22nd seed Flavio Cobolli is the prize on offer to the winner.

The match gets under way at 1.30pm BST on Monday and will be contested over the best of five sets on Centre Court.

Novak Djokovic v Alex De Minaur prediction

De Minaur is quickly getting used to the latter stages of big events, with the Australian targeting a fifth quarter-final appearance in his last six majors.

An early exit from the French Open in May was the only blot during that streak, though he has bounced back well this fortnight.

The 11th seed will not be intimidated by Djokovic, though the latter’s vast array of experience on this stage is likely to work in his favour.

It is the manner of his victories to this point that will make the Serb confident of reaching an eighth straight Wimbledon quarter-final, and a 63rd at a major.
