Alexander Zverev locks horns with Daniil Medvedev in a blockbuster semi-final showdown at the Halle Open on Saturday.

The second and third seeds collide in a mouth-watering last-four clash, with both aiming to move within a victory of getting their hands on the trophy for the first time.

Zverev has overcome Marcos Giron, Lorenzo Sonego and Flavio Cobolli to remain on course to reach back-to-back finals, following his run to the Stuttgart showpiece last week.

The home favourite – and two-time Halle runner-up – now aims to become the fourth player to reach three or more finals at this event after Roger Federer (13), Yevgeny Kafelnikov (four), and Nicolas Kiefer (three)

Medvedev also knows what it takes to reach the final in Halle, doing so three years ago, and is now looking to reach his first championship match of 2025.

The former world number one is yet to drop a set this week – defeating Daniel Altmeier, Quentin Halys and Alex Michelsen along the way, while also notching his 400th career match win.

A showdown with either Karen Khachanov or Alexander Bublik awaits the winner of this clash in Sunday’s final.

The match gets under way at around 2pm BST on Saturday and will be contested over the best of three sets at OWL Arena.

A champion in Munich in April, Zverev is certainly the man in form of the two players.

The German has also won 14 of his 15 matches against players ranked outside the world’s top 10 since May.

As for Medvedev, he has slipped down the ATP rankings in recent times, and has lost all three of his semi-finals in 2025.

This contest could well go the distance, but Zverev’s form may just give him the edge.
