Cameron Norrie looks to continue his ground-breaking Australian Open run when he faces Alexander Zverev in round four on Monday.

Prior to this fortnight, the British number one had never progressed beyond the third round in Melbourne, but is now closing in on reaching a second major quarter-final.

After sweeping Juan Pablo Varillas aside in straight sets, Norrie was given a scare in the second round by Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri, who led by two sets before eventually succumbing to the 19th seed.

However, he quickly bounced back with a hugely impressive four-set victory over three-time grand slam finalist Casper Ruud to progress to the last 16 for the first time.

Although, the task does not get any easier with Zverev, who has won all their four previous meetings, standing in his way of a place in the last eight.

The sixth seed has grown into the tournament. After overcoming compatriot Dominik Koepfer in four sets, he was forced to come from 2-1 down to beat Lukas Klein in round two – albeit via two tie-breaks – but then ran out a straight-sets winner over Alex Michelsen.

The match gets under way from around 5am GMT (4pm local time) on Margaret Court Arena, with either Carlos Alcaraz or Miomir Kecmanovic awaiting the winner in the quarter-finals.

Though this is their first grand slam showdown, Zverev has reeled off eight successive sets without reply in their four previous encounters.

With that in mind and given his greater experience in the latter stages at majors, you would make the German favourite to prevail here.

The players have already been involved in a combined six tie-breaks after their opening three matches in Melbourne.

Therefore, we can expect a couple of sets to go close here, maybe even to the wire.
