Stefanos Tsitsipas looks to continue his impressive clay-court season against Marton Fucsovics in the French Open first round.

The Greek has demonstrated his credentials on surface once again this year, winning 13 of his 16 matches thus far.

During that run, he claimed silverware in Monte-Carlo and was a runner-up in Barcelona, before he was beaten by an inspired Nicolas Jarry in the Italian Open quarter-finals last time out.

Although, Fucsovics is also in the winner’s circle this season, the Hungarian winning only the second ATP title of his career in Bucharest.

Almost six years after his previous such success in Geneva, he ended his long wait for silverware by defeating the likes of Tallon Griekspoor, Corentin Moutet and Alejandro Tabilo on the way to glory.

The winner of this match will play either Laslo Djere or Daniel Altmeier in the second round of this year’s French Open.

Both players will enter the contest feeling confident following their recent capturing of silverware.

Fucsovics reached the fourth round here back in 2020, notably defeating Daniil Medvedev in the opening round.

However, Tsitsipas has reached at least that stage in each of the last five years, and he was within a set of glory before losing out to Novak Djokovic in the 2021 final.

Also a semi-finalist the previous year, you would certainly expect the ninth seed to prevail here.
