Jessica Pegula looks to complete a successful defence of her National Bank Open title against Amanda Anisimova on Monday.
Two Americans will contest the final of this event for the first time since 2001, when Serena Williams took on Jennifer Capriati.
Pegula, who is now an impressive 16-2 at the tournament, looks to become the first player since Martina Hingis in 1999 and 2000 to win back-to-back titles.
The third seed is gearing up for her fourth WTA 1000 final, with Serena (18) and Venus Williams (six) the only American players to appear in more since the format’s introduction in 2009.
Although, she will have her work cut out against a player who has already eliminated the likes of Aryna Sabalenka and Daria Kasatkina.
In fact, world number 132 Anisimova has become only the second player after Barbora Krejcikova at Wimbledon to defeat four top-20 opponents in a single tournament in 2024, and is the lowest-ranked finalist at this event in the last 40 years.
The match gets under way at around 11pm BST on Monday and will be contested over the best of three sets on Centre Court.

This will be a big day for Anisimova, who is the second lowest-ranked player to reach a WTA 1000 final.
The American only played nine WTA matches in the whole of 2023; this will be her 10th of 2024.
Although, that lack of big-match experience may play into the hands of Pegula.
Though not at her brilliant best, the third seed has not dropped a set in this tournament and, with the pressure intensifying, you would expect her to deliver her optimum levels here – with success.
