Alexander Zverev goes up against home favourite Cameron Norrie in what promises to be an intriguing third-round battle at Wimbledon.

The Centre Court crowd can expect an entertaining showdown between one of the ATP’s in-form players and the former SW19 semi-finalist.

Both players have made strong starts to their campaigns, reeling off six sets without reply.

Fresh from reaching two finals and a semi-final in his last three events, Zverev has built on that momentum with commanding victories over Roberto Carballes Baena and Marcos Giron.

Meanwhile, Norrie ended a three-match losing streak by defeating Facundo Diaz Acosta, before making a big statement by seeing off compatriot Jack Draper in the battle of the British number one and two.

A fourth-round showdown with either Taylor Fritz or Alejandro Tabilo awaits the winner of this match.

The match gets under way at around 1.30pm BST on Saturday and will be contested over the best of five sets on Centre Court.

Of the two players, it is Norrie who has the knowhow and experience of going deep at Wimbledon, with Zverev still yet to progress beyond the last 16 at the grass-court major.

Nevertheless, the form book certainly favours the Italian Open champion, who was also runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros.

The head-to-head record is, too, with Zverev winning all five meetings – the first four in straight sets.

Although Norrie closed the gap by taking their clash at this year’s Australian Open to five sets, you would still expect the fourth seed to have the edge today.
