Alexander Zverev looks to continue his impressive recent form when he faces Roberto Carballes Baena in the opening round at Wimbledon.

The world number four has been one of the most consistent performers on the ATP Tour this season.

He arrives at Wimbledon fresh from reaching two finals and a semi-final in his three most recent events.

The champion in Rome, he was runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz at the French Open, and got to the last four in Halle a fortnight ago.

Marrakech finalist Carballes Baena provides his first obstacle at SW19 this year.

The world number 64 is set for his sixth main-draw appearance at Wimbledon, where he is aiming to improve his record of just one win in six matches.

A second-round showdown with either Marcos Giron or Henry Searle awaits the winner of this match.

The match gets under way at around 3pm BST on Tuesday and will be contested over the best of five sets on No.1 Court.

Zverev is a heavy favourite to progress to the second round, and you would expect him to do so relatively comfortably.

Although, it is worth noting the German is yet to advance beyond the last 16 at Wimbledon, while he is still seeking his maiden career title on grass.

That might offer his Spanish opponent some hope in making the scoreline more respectable at the very least, though Zverev’s form suggests there will be no upsets here.
