Iga Swiatek looks to reach her second Wimbledon quarter-final when she goes head to head with Clara Tauson on Monday.

The four-time French Open champion is the only major winner remaining in the bottom half of the women’s singles draw.

Swiatek has notoriously struggled on grass during her career, but has enjoyed an upturn in fortune in recent weeks.

Following her run to the Bad Homburg final, she has seen off Polina Kudermetova, Caty McNally and Danielle Collins so far this fortnight.

Tauson has also enjoyed a change of script during the grass-court major, where she had failed to record a single victory in her three previous appearances.

The Dane has reeled off six successive sets since losing her opener against Heather Watson in round one, also defeating Anna Kalinskaya and 2022 champion Elena Rybakina along the way.

A showdown with either Liudmila Samsonova or Jessica Bouzas Maneiro awaits the winner of this clash in the quarter-finals.

The match gets under way at around 6pm BST on Monday and will be contested over the best of three sets on No.1 Court.

Just over 18 months separate these players in terms of age, though there is a gulf when it comes to experience at this level.

While Swiatek is looking to reach her 12th major quarter-final, it would be uncharted territory for Tauson should she prevail.

The latter has matched her best performance at a slam, having also reached the fourth round at last year’s French Open.

However, Swiatek looks to be back to her best – dropping just eight games since losing that opening set against McNally – and will take some stopping here.
