Jack Draper launches his Wimbledon campaign with a tricky test against world number 38 Sebastian Baez at the All England Club on Tuesday.

The British number one is seeded fourth at the grass-court major for the first time, and will be keen to delight his home crowd.

Draper is looking to progress beyond round two here for the first time, but is fresh from reaching the semi-finals at Queen’s Club.

The world number four will potentially not face world number one Jannik Sinner until the last four, though he could meet seven-time champion Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals.

Baez provides the first obstacle he must overcome at SW19, with the Argentine a three-time ATP finalist this season.

A champion in Rio, the world number 38 was also a runner-up in Santiago and Bucharest, and he is now looking to reach round three for only the third time in 15 major appearances.

A showdown with either 2017 runner-up Marin Cilic or Raphael Collignon awaits the winner of this clash in the second round.

The match gets under way at around 5.30pm BST on Tuesday and will be contested over the best of five sets on No.1 Court.

Although Draper is yet to truly showcase his talent on the Wimbledon stage, he is certainly in a fantastic position to do so.

The Indian Wells champion has reached at least round four in each of the last three slams, including a semi-final appearance at the US Open.

By contrast, Baez has not built on those promising early performances this season. In fact, since his Bucharest final appearance, he has lost seven of his last eight matches.
