Jannik Sinner goes head to head with Novak Djokovic in a blockbuster Wimbledon semi-final at the All England Club on Friday.

The Centre Court crowd will be treated to an epic showdown between the world number one and seven-time champion, with Carlos Alcaraz awaiting the winner in Sunday’s final.

Sinner is aiming to reach his fourth successive major championship match, having become the youngest player since Rafael Nadal in 2009 to reach four straight semi-finals at slams.

The reigning US and Australian Open champion enjoyed dominant straight-set victories over Luca Nardi, Aleksandar Vukic, Pedro Martinez and Ben Shelton – the latter despite struggling with an elbow problem.

Although, he was in danger at two sets down in the fourth round against Grigor Dimitrov, who was extremely unfortunate to be forced to retire with a pectoral injury.

That will encourage Djokovic as he looks to reach a seventh successive Wimbledon final, and 11th overall.

The Serb has already made history at SW19 by reaching a record-breaking 14th semi-final – surpassing Roger Federer – while moving level with Chris Evert on 52 appearances in a major last four.

Victories over Alexandre Muller, Dan Evans, Miomir Kecmanovic, Alex De Minaur and Flavio Cobolli (the last two after losing the opening set) have taken his Wimbledon match win tally to 102; his most at a single ATP event.

However, securing that record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title and record-breaking 25th slam remains his top priority this fortnight.

Two-time defending champion Alcaraz is waiting for whoever prevails from this epic semi-final showdown.

The match gets under way at around 4.45pm BST on Friday and will be contested over the best of five sets on Centre Court.

Jannik Sinner v Novak Djokovic prediction

Sinner has certainly got Djokovic’s number, having won each of the last four meetings – including a straight-sets rout at this stage of last month’s French Open. Although, the Serb has won both their previous showdowns at Wimbledon.

Djokovic prevailed in three when they met in the 2023 semi-finals, and you must go back a further 11 years for the last time he was beaten in a last-four clash here.

Although, concerns were raised for the 38-year-old when he suffered a heavy fall towards the end of his match against Cobolli, while he subsequently skipped a practise session on Thursday.

However, Sinner is not necessarily operating at 100 per cent fitness, having donned a shoulder support during his win over Shelton.

It feels impossible to choose a winner from this contest, which has all the potential to go right down to the wire.
