Novak Djokovic resumes his quest for a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon crown against home favourite Jacob Fearnley on Thursday.
The 24-time major winner can officially become the most decorated player in Grand Slam history by going all the way once again at SW19 this year.
Despite recent knee surgery after withdrawing from the French Open, the Serb made a strong start to his mission, dropping just five games against Czechia’s Vit Kopriva in round one.
Fearnley was also a straight-sets winner – beating Alejandro Moro Canas on his Wimbledon bow, having been handed a wildcard into his home slam.
The 22-year-old from Edinburgh has momentum after winning a recent ATP Challenger event in Nottingham, and will drawn on every ounce of that as he looks to cause one of the greatest shocks in history.
The winner of this contest will play either Tomas Martin Etcheverry or Alexei Popyrin in the third round.
The match gets under way at around 3.30pm BST on Thursday and will be contested over the best of five sets on Centre Court.
Novak Djokovic v Jacob Fearnley prediction
Fearnley will be boosted by the fact Djokovic has not been at his blistering best so far this year, in which he is still seeking his first silverware.
Although, the Serb has only failed to progress beyond round two at Wimbledon on one previous occasion. That was back in 2008 when he was still in the early stages of what became a glittering career.
Fearnley’s career is certainly in it’s infancy; he only made his ATP tour-level debut at Eastbourne last time out.
And while he will embrace this occasion, you feel Djokovic’s vast supremacy in terms of experience and knowhow will be far too much for him.
