Latest Boulter beat Raducanu 6-7(13), 6-3, 6-4 in the Rothesay Open, Nottingham Jun 2024

Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter are the two leading British women’s players of their generation, with Boulter leading their head-to-head 2–0 — though only one meeting was a proper WTA-level encounter. Their Nottingham 2024 semi-final was one of the most dramatic British tennis matches in years: an 80-minute first set ending in a 15–13 tiebreak, play suspended for bad light, and a gripping three-set conclusion. The rivalry is in its infancy at tour level, but a Wimbledon collision would be one of the most-watched matches in British sport.

The Story

Rivalry Analysis

Their first — and only — WTA match delivered exactly what British tennis had been building towards.

First set (80 minutes): Neither player dropped serve. The tiebreak was extraordinary — Boulter led 4–1 and held three set points, but Raducanu saved all three and won 15–13, one of the longest WTA tiebreaks of the year. Play was then suspended for bad light.

Second and third sets: Boulter was more composed on the resumption. Raducanu’s serve wobbled, Boulter levelled 6–3, then sealed it 6–4 after Raducanu broke back when Boulter served for the match. Boulter went on to defend her Nottingham title by beating Pliskova in the final.

Betting Tips: Raducanu vs Boulter

Boulter leads 1-0 at tour level in the battle of Britain, and the context matters more than the count: Raducanu's 2026 has been wrecked by a tibia stress fracture that ruled her out of Wimbledon, while Boulter has stayed match-sharp. Until Raducanu returns and holds up physically, Boulter is rightly favoured, but a healthy Raducanu at a big price is the scenario worth waiting for.
