Henry Searle
Henry Searle became the first British boys’ singles champion at Wimbledon for 61 years in 2023, beating Yaroslav Demin 6-4, 6-4 without dropping a set all tournament, the first since Stanley Matthews in 1962. The Wolverhampton left-hander is now 20 and ranked World No. 214, which is also his career high.
The senior breakthrough arrived in the summer of 2026. He won the Dublin Challenger in June and the Nottingham Challenger in July, two titles inside a month that lifted him from outside the top 350 at the start of the year into the ATP top 250. He is coached by the recently retired British professional Dan Evans, and partnered him in Evans’s final match at Wimbledon 2026.

Playing Style & Strengths
Searle is a 6ft 4in left-hander and the serve is the centre of everything. The height and the lefty spin combine to produce angles right-handers see rarely, he has been clocked as high as 140mph, and the ace rate is what carries him through matches at Challenger level. During his 2023 Wimbledon junior title run he hit a 129mph first serve in the semi-final, which was a marker of what the delivery would become.
The groundstrokes are compact rather than expansive: a driving forehand and an efficient two-handed backhand, both geared to moving quickly from defence into attack rather than to constructing long points. That is the modern British development template rather than a serve-and-volley game, and it means his best surfaces are the quick ones where the serve does more of the work.
What 2026 added was the ability to win a tournament rather than a match. Two Challenger titles inside a month, one of them against the top seed, is a different achievement from beating a good player once, and it is the reason the ranking moved more than 130 places in half a season.

Searle Betting Tips & Predictions
Searle is a serve-led Challenger-level play with a rising trajectory, and the markets have not fully caught up with a player who moved from outside the top 350 to inside the top 250 in six months. Ace lines are the most reliable read on him: a 6ft 4in left-hander with a 140mph first serve produces free points against most opposition at this level.
The caveats are experience and surface. He has yet to win a Grand Slam main-draw match, losing in Wimbledon qualifying in 2026, and the sample of matches against ranked tour-level opposition remains small, so treat prices in main-tour draws with more caution than his Challenger form suggests.
