Bouzková is a counter-puncher who wins by extending points rather than ending them. She moves well, changes direction early and uses angle and depth to draw errors from bigger hitters, and she is comfortable absorbing pace for long stretches. The serve is modest, so she holds by placement rather than power and her matches are usually decided on return games. Slower hard courts and clay suit her best; on very quick surfaces she can be rushed out of the patterns she wants.

Bouzková is the kind of player who beats bigger names in three sets and loses to them in two, which makes the match line less useful than the handicap. She has been consistently underrated against seeded power players on slow courts and overrated on quick ones.
