Janice Tjen
Janice Tjen is an Indonesian right-hander from Jakarta, born on 6 May 2002. She took the US college route, playing at the University of Oregon and then Pepperdine University, before a fast climb on the pro tour. She is coached by Chris Bint.
Her breakthrough came in 2025. She qualified for the US Open and beat seeded Veronika Kudermetova in the first round, reached her first WTA final in São Paulo and won the WTA 125 event in Jinan. She then won her first WTA title in Chennai, beating Kimberly Birrell 6-4, 6-3. That made her the first Indonesian woman to win a WTA singles title since Angelique Widjaja in 2002.
In 2026 she beat Leylah Fernandez at the Australian Open and reached a career-high World No. 35 on 24 August. After a third-round run in Wuhan, she is World No. 46 on 1,120 points as of 19 October 2026.

Playing Style & Strengths
Tjen is right-handed, and her best results so far have come on hard courts. Her WTA title in Chennai, her final in São Paulo, her WTA 125 title in Jinan and her Grand Slam wins over Kudermetova and Fernandez were all on that surface. She is also a strong doubles player: on the day she won the Chennai singles title she also won the doubles with Aldila Sutjiadi. Her rise has been quick. She broke into the top 100 in October 2025 and reached a career-high No. 35 in August 2026.
Tjen Betting Tips & Predictions
Tjen has done her best work on hard courts at WTA 250 and WTA 125 level, where she won in Chennai and Jinan and reached the São Paulo final in 2025. Her two Grand Slam upsets, over Kudermetova in 2025 and Fernandez in 2026, both came on hard courts against seeded opponents, so the market can underrate her there. Clay is a weaker area: in 2026 she did not get past the second round in Madrid, Rome or Roland Garros.
