Teodor “Teo” Davidov is a Bulgarian-American teenager who has become one of the most talked-about prospects in tennis for one reason: he plays without a conventional backhand. The defining feature of Davidov's game is something that has never established itself at the professional level: he hits every ball on his backhand side with a forehand grip, switching the racket from one hand to the other in a split second. His father and coach, Kalin Davidov, built the entire technical framework around the two-forehand system from early in Teo's development, starting it as a coordination drill when Teo was eight.
